I bought the Fahrenheit XXL -25 F because of it's size. I live in the Netherlands and I'm primarily using this bag for camping and sailing trips. In Europe I can't seem to find any long and wide sleeping bags. So searched the net and found Teton. Great service I'll have to say! Thanx!
On to the sleeping bag. I'm roughly 75 inches long and I disappointingly find the sleeping bag to short for my taste. It could use an extra 5 inches.
It is really warm when you are in a windproof tent. Don't use it outdoors because the wind will blow right trough the bag and you.
I'm used to wider shoulder baffles with my mummy sleeping bags. They keep out the cold even with your head stikking out. The shoulder baffles on this bag are useless. Way to small to be of any use. So I had the sewing shop add 2 inches.
I've gotten to like the liner, where I was used to silk liners in my other sleeping bags. I'll have to see whether it will last as many years as the slik liners. But so far, so good.
The zipper I had replaced after a few weeks, along with yhe shoulder baffle. The zipper doesn't stop unzipping when you pull the hood or the shoulder baffle tight. Even the velcro doesn't fix that. I replaced the zipper with a zipper that locks when under load.
It may sound like I don't like this bag. But it's the opposite. Taking in account the price I payed for this bag, customs fee and the sewing shop fee, I'm still way better off then having this bag custom made. I payed $ 900 for my previous sleeping bag...
So, yes there is room for improvement, but for this price there is no better bag out there!
